Reclaiming Your Liberty

"America in Distress"
"Reclaiming Your Liberty: Because you shouldn't have to work this hard to be this poor."

America, it's time to come out and say it: We are in trouble.  Continuing on this path can have only one logical outcome, and I think we all know what that is.  Our system is rampant with inefficiency and corruption.  It no longer works.  It's time for a real change.

Our leaders lack even the basic vision required to accept one inescapable fact: America is in distress.  We have some serious problems.  Because they will not accept reality, how can We the People ever hope our leaders will fix the issues we now face?  Rather than accept the facts, Washington bickers back and forth over petty issues and never makes useful agreements on matters of importance.  Instead, they continually kick the can down the road, which is only making the inevitable crash much more devastating.  America is on a bus hurtling towards a solid brick wall at 200 miles an hour, and Washington is squabbling over where they are sitting.  The few voices who try to bring attention to where the bus is headed are lauded as alarmists and ignored.  We need more leaders who see, accept, and rise to the challenges of our time.  We need representatives with enough vision to correct our current path to destruction and restore our once-great nation.

We have far too many lawyers in our leadership.  Somewhere along the line, an unspoken agreement that a law degree is needed to run for office seems to have been enacted.  Where are all the doctors?  The scientists?  The farmers?  The mechanics?  The tech workers?  In short: Where are all the Americans?  All I see are people who, by some stroke of chance, were born into money and power.  In 2010, the average campaign budget for the House of Representatives (the lowest position in high office) was $1,163,231.  While just 1 percent of Americans are millionaires, 66 percent of senators are millionaires, as are 41 percent of House members.  The Constitution ordained a government of the people, by the people, and for the people.  Clearly, we do not have the type of leaders the Framers intended.  Instead, we have droves of wealthy lawyers making our laws.  The laws being made are so chalked full of ambiguous jargon, only people with a law degree can make sense of them. These laws are practically impossible for the average American not to break, and when they inevitably do, the lawyer friends of our "leaders" get to profit from your suffering.  All of this is unacceptable, and it needs to change.

Our system is rank with crony capitalism.  It is designed in such a way that a mega corporation like Monsanto - whose current and former members now occupy 18 positions in our government - can sell its "food" to hundreds of millions of people without adequate testing.  Even with the safety of the product in question, the system does not require any sort of labeling.  At the same time, the "mom and pop" organic farm is burdened with impossible regulations and licensing requirements before they are allowed to sell to even their neighbors.  People who try to grow food in their own front yards are being harassed by city officials.  Many laws on the books are subtly designed to allow large corporations and people in positions of power to do as they please while restricting the average American as much as possible.  This is the exact opposite of what our country needs.  "Leaders" who are more interested in money than your freedoms have complacently allowed our nation to come to this.

The fiat money system has created a situation in which we are being quietly robbed of our wealth every single day.  Each new dollar the Federal Reserve prints (and they print in excess of 85 billion per month) takes away just a little bit more of the purchasing power of the dollars you already have.  Combined with our unconstitutional tax system, this helps to explain why it is already too hard for most families to keep food on the table.  Bills consume most peoples' lives and distract them from the larger picture of the world around them.  Our "leaders" use your distracted state to start unconstitutional wars and pass laws that provide unlimited protections to corporations like Monsanto, and it's all done without any challenge from you.  They take your silence as consent.  This too needs to change.  We need to return to sound, gold-backed currency.  We need to eliminate the Federal Reserve's ability to destroy the dollar.  We need to stop attempting to draw Iran into the next world war.  Most importantly, We the People need to realize what is happening and explicitly withdraw our consent.

Despite President Obama's "eloquent" speeches and what the (borderline fraudulent) unemployment numbers claim, our economy is not recovering.  If we don't change directions, it will never recover.  The jobs that are being added are largely low paying, part time jobs.  Meanwhile, we are losing more full time jobs than we are gaining part time jobs most months.  Misleading free trade agreements have led to a mass exodus of manufacturing jobs.  As a result, we have been importing more than we have been exporting for far too long.  America has been living beyond her means for too many years.  The credit card is maxed out, and the bill collectors are knocking on our door.  This, too, is a major problem our leaders refuse to acknowledge.

The verdict is in and the results are all around us: The policies of our current leadership are failing.  It's time for some fresh ideas and a new direction.  Obama promised us "Hope and Change," but he has broken every promise he ever made.  He has delivered the opposite of "Hope" with the only "Change" being a further reduction of personal Liberty. Our leaders seem to have forgotten what they swore to when they took their Oath of Office.  We need more representatives in government who know and care about what the word "Constitutional" means.  Representatives who hold their Oaths of Office in the highest possible regard, as was intended by the Framers.  Representatives who will swear to and then actually protect, defend, and preserve the Constitution of the United States of America.  In short: We need representatives who will protect your individual Liberty instead of a corrupt system.

The time has come for a Return to Liberty.  Whether or not this return is successful will rest on the actions of We the People.

Fear nothing. Question everything. Stand up for your rights.

Before we get into Monsanto (which will probably be another long one), it is important for you to know what you can do to get involved and effect real change here and now.  It comes down to these three things: Fear nothing, question everything, and stand up for your rights.  It is with these principles in mind that you should take action.

Fear Nothing.

One of the biggest dysfunctions that plague us as humans is our fear.  Fear of the unknown.  Fear of failure.  Fear of rejection.  Fear of other people.  Fear of losing our job.  Fear of stepping on the wrong toes.  Because we are afraid, we often take actions that are detrimental to ourselves or others, or fail to take action that could have positive impacts on our lives and the world around us.  The biggest reason most people are not more active when it comes to our government's stripping away of our freedoms is because they're afraid.  They're afraid that if they speak up, they'll be locked away in Guantanamo Bay and indefinitely detained without a trial (which is a whole other article).  Allowing this fear to overcome you is exactly how you lose the fight before it even begins.  They want you to be afraid.  They want you to believe you have no allies.  They want you to believe you have no hope.  They want you to believe you cannot stop them.  Don't believe their lies.  Together, We the People are infinitely stronger than any mega corporation or corrupt government entity would ever admit.  The most important thing to remember about fear is this: Fear is your mind creating situations that do not and may not ever exist.  Fear is a choice.

Question Everything.

The mainstream media is notorious for presenting you with information that ranges from misleading to outright lies.  While occasional beads of relevant truths do make an appearance, the vast majority of mainstream media broadcasts are pure propaganda.  Rather than thinking for themselves, so many people rely on the media to tell them what to get outraged about.  Why is it that the shooting death of 26 innocent people at Sandy Hook causes mass hysteria and outrage, but the more than 300 children killed by Obama's unconstitutional drone strikes overseas isn't even considered?  Why is it that the Zimmerman trial gets plastered on every major news network, but a case of 3 black men killing a white waitress for her tip money is not even mentioned beyond the local level?  Right this moment, why is it that thousands of people are gathering in protest of a logical outcome to a murder trial, but they won't rally together to stand against being poisoned or having their rights stripped?  The mainstream media exists to keep We the People divided and fighting amongst ourselves over petty differences.  They are there to distract you from topics of real value to you, such as the way your government views and treats you, the foods you eat, and the real state of your nation.  Stop being distracted.  Start thinking for yourself.  Start asking questions.

Stand Up For Your Rights.

The supreme law of the land is the US Constitution.  One thing that is guaranteed by the Constitution in the Bill of Rights is your right to privacy: A figure of authority cannot just arbitrarily search your personal property without a warrant, which requires probable cause.  Yet every day, there are unconstitutional checkpoints put up along the freeways in our country where everyone's car is searched for no other reason than they were driving on that particular road.  This is illegal, but the vast majority of people don't stand up for their right to privacy because they're afraid.  This is only one of thousands of examples.  We the People must resist tyranny at every level, no matter where it rears its ugly head.  If your employer tries to disallow you from serving jury duty because they "can't afford to have you out," don't stand for this.  Not only is serving on a jury the most sacred duty of a rank-and-file citizen to maintain a functional and free Republic, but it is also against the law for your employer to stop you.  Don't let figures of authority break the law because you're afraid of what they might do to you for standing up to them.  “The best way to take control over a people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible reductions. In this way the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed.” -Adolf Hitler

Keep these things in mind as you go forward.  But where should you start?  You can effect the most change locally.  The best place to start is with your friends and family.  Educate at least one complete stranger every day.  Start attending your local city council meetings.  Volunteer for a local public service position, or even run for your city council.  Write or call your representatives in government.  Most importantly, reach out to people in the police and military.  Remind them they took an Oath to defend the Constitution and Freedom, not blindly follow orders that violate this Oath.  Make your voice heard.  The biggest lie the people have been led to accept is the idea that your one lone voice will never be enough to make a difference.  Quite the contrary - yours is the only voice that can make a difference.  If you do not make yourself heard, nothing will ever change.

The cause of Liberty is starting to win out, and it is up to you to carry the torch across the finish line.

"Beyond fear lies freedom."

We the People.....

It has become blatantly obvious America has lost its way.  Our government is no longer a government of the people, by the people, and for the people. It is sad to see our leaders have turned into a group of bought individuals who answer to their corporate sponsors rather than WE THE PEOPLE.  Every Man, Woman and Child who is an American Citizen represent WE THE PEOPLE.
When the citizens of this country come to realize there are more important things than political parties, race, gender, sexual orientation, social standing or religion is when we can all come together and really make a change.  Don't misunderstand me: All of these things are important to who we are as individuals.  However until we can all see each other as equal human beings, these differences will be used as weapons against us to keep us divided and at odds with one another.
This has been the case for centuries and was seen during the Women’s Suffrage Movement, the Civil Rights Movement and currently the Gay Rights Movement.  As people came together and realized that women were people to and that black people had rights as well, these injustices were corrected.  I strongly believe that the same thing will happen with the Gay Rights Movement; once people get past the differences between them and realize all people deserve the same rights as human beings, this injustice will also be corrected.
Today the World is coming together in the fight against Monsanto.  Nations that have NOTHING in common are banding together as humans of this world who want to protect the sanctity of HUMAN life. Nothing is more powerful than the will of the people who band together despite their differences.  If we all keep letting these differences keep us from banding together as a nation of Americans, our country will be lost.
